Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealed the Bundesliga champions haven’t activated their purchase option for Philippe Coutinho and the clause has now expired.
Coutinho joined Bayern on a season-long mortgage deal from LaLiga holders Barcelona firstly of the 2019-20 marketing campaign however he has struggled to determine himself in Munich.
The Brazil worldwide arrived with the option to purchase for €120million however Bayern have opted to not train the deal, although Rummenigge didn’t shut the door on Coutinho.
“The option expired and we’ve not activated it,” Rummenigge advised German journal Der Spiegel.
“We’re going to plan our squad for subsequent season and we’ll see if he nonetheless has a job to play with us or not.”
Coutinho has didn’t reside as much as the hype since swapping Liverpool for Barca in a blockbuster switch in 2018.
