“There will not be a Ballon d’Or France Football in 2020,” awards organizer France Football journal stated in an announcement on Monday.
France Football stated the award will skip a yr due to the uneven circumstances of 2020 brought on by the virus.
Starting in 1956, France Football has awarded its Ballon d’Or trophy yearly to the world’s greatest male soccer participant.
A separate ladies’s award, Ballon d’Or Feminin, was added in 2018.
Last December, Barcelona’s Argentine famous person Lionel Messi gained the Ballon d’Or award for the sixth time.
U.S. midfielder Megan Rapinoe, captain of the U.S. National Soccer Team, gained the ladies’s award.
The Ballon d’Or was organized by FIFA and France Football till 2015. After they break up, FIFA has handed out its personal awards since 2016.
